It Lives Inside, A Story Of Samidha - A True Review
Director Bishal Dutta's tautly told tale of demonic interference, which presents a distinct face to horror in the shape of the American Hindi experience, is a competent and atmospheric film that flirts with achieving something different in the genre but ultimately holds back. Samidha, the protagonist of Suri, is a teen who is struggling to adjust to high school life and is starting to hate her culture and family. When Tamira says there's a monster in a jar, Samidha isolates herself from her former best friend and finds herself irresistibly lured back into her world. Samidha mocks her closest friend, breaks the jar, and unintentionally releases the Pishach demon, which hooks onto her, in a moment that is reminiscent of Carrie's cruelty. While Dutta keeps the action tight, there are times when it seems like the picture is holding back or that budgetary restrictions have prevented it from amplifying some of the more unsettling components for the conclusion.
